Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Ng is a fully qualified Australian trained medical specialist in the field of Anaesthesia. He has appointments at Sydney Adventist, North Shore Private, Macquarie University and Norwest Private Hospitals, and Royal North Shore and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Public Hospitals. Dr Ng was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2010, after working as a resident doctor at Westmead Hospital and then undertaking specialist training in Anaesthesia at Concord and Royal North Shore Hospitals. His professional interests include anaesthesia for colorectal, hand and major orthopaedic, urological, plastic, head and neck surgery, and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Dr Ng maintains up-to-date Continuing Medical Education through the ANZCA CPD Program. He is an outstanding communicator who genuinely cares for his patients.

Dr Ajay Kumar

Dr Ajay Kumar is a medical graduate of the University of New South Wales (1991) and completed his anaesthetic training at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital in 2000. During that time, he undertook fellowship training in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Echocardiography and Medical Perfusion. He is a Specialist Anaesthetist working in private practice with the Northern Specialist Anaesthetics group based at the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Sydney.  He also works at the Macquarie University Private Hospital, Norwest Private and the Mater Hospitals. His special interests include Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia, Perioperative Ultrasound, Orthopaedic and Bariatric Anaesthesia and also Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) pathways. He is focused on patient centric care.

Dr Ajay Kumar, in addition, has an academic and teaching background and is a senior lecturer at The Macquarie University (Sydney) and The University of Melbourne. He has convened and presented at several anaesthetic meetings (Internationally and Nationally) and teaches regularly. His other professional interests include travelling to developing countries with Cardiac Outreach Programs.
