A/Prof Sumit Raniga has been honoured as the inaugural recipient of the SESA (Shoulder and Elbow
Society of Australia) North American Traveling Fellowship Award, in association with the American
Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES). This prestigious award recognises outstanding contributions to the
field of shoulder and elbow surgery.
As part of the fellowship, A/Prof Raniga represented SESA and had the opportunity to share and learn from
colleagues at world-renowned centres of excellence in North America. He also presented research from the
MQ Health Translational Orthopaedic Research Lab at the ASES 2024 Annual Closed Meeting in San
Antonio, Texas.
A/Prof Raniga expressed his gratitude to Professor Gregory Bain and the SESA Education Committee for
the honour, as well as to Professor Mark Ross and Dr John E. (Jed) Kuhn for facilitating this exceptional
professional and learning opportunity.
