New Zealand Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting 2025

A/Prof Sumit Raniga was honoured to return to Queenstown, New Zealand as an invited international guest speaker at the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association (NZOA) Annual Scientific Meeting; focusing on high-quality content regarding complications and complaints.

A/Prof Raniga, a proud graduate of the NZOA SET Training Program, described it as a privilege to return to New Zealand after 10 years and to share his academic journey.  He thanked Dr Khalid Mohammed, President of the NZOA, and Dr Andrew Stokes, President of the New Zealand Shoulder and Elbow Society (NZSES), for the invitation and the opportunity to present translational research from the Macquarie Translational Orthopaedic Research Lab.

He delivered five plenary lectures to an audience that included friends, teachers, and mentors, and expressed his gratitude for their support and encouragement.  A/Prof Raniga also acknowledged the exceptional hospitality, collegiality, and generosity he experienced during the meeting.

The event was made particularly memorable when he was presented with an All Blacks jersey by the legendary Richie McCaw, Israel Dagg, and Colin Slade in recognition of his contribution to the meeting.
